If your love story doesn’t start over hot dogs… you’re not doing something right.
Capturing the “what” of a wedding day isn’t as challenging as capturing the “why” of a wedding day. We always strive to really distill the essence of who our couples are individually and then paint the picture of how they fit together.
So, when your love story starts over the iconic King Dogs hot dog cart and you gift your groomsmen spy swords and top hats on your wedding day… well, sign us up!
From the moment you first meet Lane and Isabella, you’re immediately taken back by their synergy and balance. It’s like a lightning bolt of infectious happiness delivered with the most calming, gentle demeanor.
We were fortunate to be able to spend the night before their wedding with them at Dauphin’s in downtown Mobile for their rehearsal dinner. Hearing from both Lane’s mom and his brother describing the joy Isabella has brought in to Lane’s life, their entire family, and into every room she’s ever entered really hammered the point home - these two radiate joy and you can’t help but soak it in!
After dinner and dancing, capped off with a beautiful champagne tower toast, it was time to officially kickstart the party with a classic Gulf Coast tradition - the Second Line parade! One of the things we love about shooting weddings in Mobile is there’s so much culture and energy.
The Mobile Second Line Society filled the streets of downtown Mobile and as the second line made their way through the crowds, more than a few spectators joined in the celebration as the entire wedding party danced and partied down Dauphin St. all the way to one of Lane and Isabella’s favorite bars - O’Daly’s Irish Pub!
What. A. Night!
The wedding day started at the gorgeous Battle House Hotel and Spa in sunny downtown Mobile, where Isabella and her girls were treated to hair and makeup (and a few mimosas!) by Caroline MacDonald and Tyler Kilgore to help set the tone for a day full of love and laughter.
Lane got ready at a townhome in downtown Mobile, surrounded by his groomsmen and a celebratory shot (or two) of whiskey! A nod to that calming, gentle demeanor… Lane didn’t want the vibe to be too tense, so he gifted each of his groomsmen with a top hat and cane (complete with a hidden sword!!!) Much fun was had.
Back at the Battle House…when Isabella’s mom, Stella, helped with her finishing touches on her dress and gave her veil one final adjustment in front of the picturesque windows - it was like something out of a fairytale… full. body. chills! Then seeing the reaction on her bridesmaid’s faces when they saw Isabella for the first time and had the chance to pray over her and Lane’s marriage - let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!
Lane and Isabella made their way to the breathtakingly beautiful Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Concepcion in downtown Mobile for their ceremony before making their way over to the Alabama Contemporary Arts Center for a fun-filled celebration!
Gulf Coast Sounds provided the soundtrack for a beautiful evening designed and executed by Chelsea McBrien Weddings!
The simple but impactful floral arrangements The Shade Tree designed dotted the room and cake display. Speaking of cake… there were FIVE gorgeous, uniquely flavored cakes from Bake My Day… YES, please!
As if the delicious dinner from Naman’s Catering wasn’t enough, as the sun set, Mobile’s King Dogs was on site for late night snacks overlooking the bright lights of the city skyline!
This one was fun. Not just because of the amazing music, or celebrating the love and happiness of two awesome people… but because we really got to see firsthand and ultimately tell their unique story through the eyes of those who love them the most.
This one still gives us chills every time! Lane and Isabella - thank you for having us and trusting us to be a part of such a special day in your lives!
