From The Bride: Will and I met in 2009. One evening, when we used to work together, we decided to go out for a drink and the rest is history. Soon after we started dating, we realized we were both from the same neighborhood in The Bronx and actually lived around the corner from each other for a few years, even though our paths never crossed. 7 years later, we walked down the aisle! When planning our wedding, we didn't want anything too traditional. We fell in love with the Metropolitan Building in LIC because it didn't feel like a typical wedding venue (mostly, because it's really not!). We love a vintage touch and the Metropolitan Building is literally a warehouse that stores antiques. The 1920s jazz era is our favorite time period so we incorporated many of the building's antiques throughout our ceremony and reception space to feel like old New York. Our main goal was not to have anything look too forced or perfect. . We added bistro lights over the dance floor as well as hanging icicle lights over the dining area to make the entire room just feel magical. Our flowers also made a huge impact. We tried to choose vendors that we could almost blindly trust. The entire day was a dream.
