First Look— Madisen knew they wanted a first look but wanted it to be a more of a natural reaction rather than set up / expected. So she surprised him during his groom portraits 🥹🫶🏼. Favorite non traditional first look and another option for having a first look on your wedding day that feels authentic! They just wanted a real moment that wasn’t staged or pressured and allowed them to be together!
The bride, Madisen (hi it's me!!) is a wedding videographer and knew that the most important aspect of wedding celebrations was celebrating in a way that is true to who you are as a couple and making the day a reflection of the relationship you've built together.
So, the couple decided to get married on Madisen's family's private lake where her parents also got married almost 28 years ago to the date. The couple also rode in the very same boat that was a part of her parents’ own wedding. 🥲
The morning of our wedding they woke up early, made coffee, and went down to the lake from the cabins for a morning swim together. It’s one of both of their favorite memories of the day— it was so special feeling those wedding morning excitement jitters together and getting to squeeze each other in realization that they would be getting married SOON… THAT VERY DAY (!!!!!) eeek.
Swimming there at the lake had become such a staple part of their lives and memories together that it just made sense to honor that on their wedding day as well. 🥹🫶🏼
The couple boated almost 300 guests across the lake to their ceremony and back again for the reception, giving their guests a little adventure and experience tied to their vows and allowing them a little exploration of the family lake.
