To say I’ve been lucky or blessed by all of my most recent couples feels like an understatement, especially when I’m getting to work with couples like Lexi and Austin. I had the pleasure of filming Austin’s brother Trevor’s wedding two years ago, and I was so excited when Lexi reached out to me about filming her and Austin’s wedding. They are fun and outgoing, with a little bit of sass on the side. Their wedding day was full of unique touches that represented them - from choosing to get married at the Allan House downtown where they had lived during their dating relationship, down to the cotton candy and churros that they opted for over cake. Every detail was thought out, intentional, and specifically represented who these two are. Their day was so fun, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. Congrats to the Caswells!
From the bride:
"We met out on 6th street in January 2016. I was out with girls and ran into my friend, Mo. Mo and I went to college together in Illinois and he moved to Austin a year or so before me. He was out with his cute new friend, Austin. We didn't talk much that night, but the next day we all got together to Sunday Funday and we really hit it off. He didn't ask for my number so I found him and messaged him on Facebook and after a little going back and forth I lied and said I had terrible internet and said here's my number, text me! He swears he was going to ask for it eventually lol. From there we just hit it off. First date was on valentine's day..we went to the movies and saw Deadpool haha. We're not very romantic in nature but I remember our first kiss was after dinner, we were walking down 2nd street and I was just blabbing away and out of no where he stopped me and just kissed me. Probably to just shut me up lol but it was chilly and all the trees on 2nd were lit up and I feel like it was the most romcom romantic moment.
fast forward 6 years and we are getting ready for our annual Halloween party. As usual, we were still running around and getting ready when people started to arrive. Austin asked me 54351643412153451 times "How long until you're ready" It started to irritate the hell out of me. I did my makeup and it didn't turn out right so I had to wash it and start over and I was so annoyed. Then people started to arrive so I ran upstairs to move the last few things out of the living room and all of the sudden Austin was like we need to take a picture. I was like WE CAN LATER! We still need to move some stuff and put out drinks blah blah. I had the dog bed in my arms to move downstairs and he literally took it from me and threw it and said just one picture now! I was like OMFG FINE HURRY! He handed his phone to my friend and then he reached behind the TV and pulled out the little blue box. My poor friend had NO HEADS UP so she is fumbling to turn it from photo to video lol and I'm in pure shock. I think I asked "what is that, what are you doing?!" like 14 times. He was dressed as The Joker so I truly was like... I can't even process if this is real or not. I don't know what he said and I don't think I ever actually said yes I just stuck my finger out. My best friend was down stairs finishing something and she came running up "WHAT DID I MISS OMG". He told literally no one. He had hoped to do it before people arrived which is why he was rushing me and I was so bitchy lol. This is the most "us" story ever. I LOVE Halloween so to get proposed to in costume was just perfect."
