Noah & Kristin were married at Crimson Lane, a modern take on a farmhouse-style venue in northwest Ohio. Our family and Noah’s family have been lifelong friends, present for some of the biggest moments in each other’s lives, so it was so meaningful for us to be able to capture Noah and Kristin’s most special day!
These two met at Taylor University, a Christian college in northern Indiana. As freshmen at Taylor University, students are given a towel called the Taylor Towel which has the Bible verse Philippians 2:4 printed onto it; “…in humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” This towel and verse is a reminder to take on the Christ-like position as a servant, choosing to serve others before ourselves.
Noah & Kristin decided to implement the Taylor Towel into their wedding ceremony by having a feet washing ceremony. Back in Jesus’ day, the servant boys, or the least of the leasts, would be the one to wash the feet of house guests. But Jesus took on the role of the servant and washed his disciples’ feet, setting an example to serve others. Noah decided that he wanted to wash and dry Kristin’s feet during their wedding ceremony as a way to represent his promise to always serve her above him. We love how the Taylor Towel was included in their wedding as a symbol of both their faith and backstory to their relationship.
