From the bride: The story of how Mark and I met is a bit out of the ordinary as we have known one another over the years just by the sheer fact that we work at the same firm. However, in 2015, both Mark and I were mutual friends with a colleague who happened to sit right next to me. Mark would frequently stop by her desk to chat about work (I think it was more to see me but he may argue that!) and sure enough over time, our mutual friend formally introduced us to one another and that brought us to where we are today. The general vision for our wedding was modern and casual but still classic. We were married at St. John the Evangelist Church which is a beautiful mini basilica in Stamford, Conn., that my husband’s family has [attended] for many years. When we began to look at reception venues, the Stamford Yacht Club came up in my search and I knew we needed to have our reception there. It had the vibe I was going for…casual waterfront location with modern and classic touches inside. With the yacht club being nautical of course, I knew everything added to the space (flowers, tablecloths, lighting, etc.) had to be clean and simple. Nothing over orchestrated. The color palette I went with was grey, cream, white, and pink. I wanted the vibe of the wedding to be like the feeling I have when I wear a t-shirt, jeans, and flats. It’s an easy outfit to put on yet it’s still classic, casual, and put together.
