Kent and I have known each other since the 7th grade. We met in french class and were acquaintances all through high school. Fast forward to 2018 when we reconnected, I am a single mom with a 4 year old son and I was scared to death that would turn Kent off but when he and my son, Greyson finally met each other it was like they were meant to be best friends all along. Unfortunately, my dad passed away in 2016 but that didn't stop us from incorporating him through our journey as much as possible. When Kent first met my family, he had me take him to the cemetery so he could "meet" my dad first before he met everyone else. I didn't know this but when Kent proposed he told me that he promised to my dad that day he would always take care of me. Kent proposed to me at the Bluegrass Airport in front of the runway because my dad spent my childhood taking me out there to watch the planes take off and land. My son was with him and he is the one who actually put the ring on my finger, it truly was a special moment. Fast forward to our wedding, Kent and I decided not to do a first look, but I did do one with my son and it sure was sweet! My dad was in a wheelchair majority of his life, so my mom walked me down the aisle and we pushed his chair along side of us so that it was like he was there giving me away as well. As Kent and I exchanged vows, he had also written separate vows that he read to Greyson really making every cry. At our reception, I surprised Kent's dad by asking him to dance with my for the Father Daughter dance and we spent the rest of the evening celebrating our love with all of the people we love the most! Truly couldn't think of a better day to become Mrs. Franklin!
