Pat and I met in high school through mutual friends, in the fall of 2005. Pat was 18 and I was 16. To say it was love at first sight is a bit of a stretch, as Patrick did not speak to me the first night we met. He came off as quiet and shy. However, he tracked me down through friends and got my phone number. After numerous phone calls, texts, and instant messages, making it nearly impossible for me to ignore, we went out again with friends. He swooned me by being the gentleman he is and with the sweet things he said, and from that point on, the two of us were nearly inseparable.
