Gil And Kelly first met through mutual friends. He asked her out a few times - she always declined. At first glance and by initial judgement, Kelly didn’t think he was her type. He was 4 years older, so they didn’t hang around or see each other often. Kelly & Gil had mutual close friends who were dating at the time, and they had set them up (both of us without knowing) to meet at a friend's house. They both thought it was going to be a chill night with friends but when they both arrived and saw it was just them 4 (AWKWARD), Kelly was a little upset with her friend (he on the other hand was not). They ended up in conversation and within 10 minutes of talking and getting to know each other, Kelly knew this was going to be the man she was going to marry. The way they bonded, how much they had in common, how funny he was, well spoken, smart, attractive - she never bonded with anyone like that before and she could tell he hadn't either. It was literally love at first convo. Gil proposed in 2010 when Kelly was 8 months pregnant with their eldest son. Every year, they celebrate Christmas with his mom's side of the family and there is ALWAYS a Santa appearance. Santa always calls random people up to him and asks them what they wish for, what they want in life etc. This year, Gil was called up and he brought Kelly there with him. He then got down on his knee and proposed in front of their entire family and closest friends.
