Andrew and Katie went to high school together and started dating their sophomore year of high school. They connected over a love for tie-dye and Dave Matthews Band. Their young love fizzled out, as many high school relationships do. But Andrew's adoration for Katie never waned, and he persisted. After sophomore year of college, these two found their way back to one another, and this time for good. Not even long distance in college, or an entire year spent locked in a one bedroom apartment together in New York City during COVID, could come between them.
They got engaged atop Cadillac Mountain while on a trip to Bar Harbor, Maine. They were all dressed up for dinner, but Andrew insisted that they watch the sunset on the mountain first. He was so nervous and said that he was afraid of heights -which Katie knew to be untrue. He had also planned a speech about peaks and valleys and highs and lows, but couldn't contain himself and was just proud he got the ring on her finger.
Katie and Andrew planned their Modern, Bohemian, Summer Wedding on Lake Canandaigua. They spent the weekend surrounded by family and friends from near and far as they exchanged personal vows on the lake front property and ended they night tearing up the dance floor with all of their favorite people. These two are the lucky ones who can truly say they married their best friend. Their personalities complement one another extraordinarily well and dang, do they have a good time together.
They share an immense love for cannoli - so they chose a very untraditional looking cannoli wedding cake as a nod to this beloved dessert. Andrew is also a mega Steelers fan, and his mom surprised him with terrible towels for the bridal party to wave as the new husband and wife were announced into the reception. The rest - you'll just have to see to believe. Enjoy getting lost in this once in a lifetime love story for two out of this world people! Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Kristy!
