Wedding Date on Dec 29, 2017

On Dan and my second date, we started a tradition that would continue long into our first year of dating. Any time we went out for drinks, we'd cheers our glasses and one of us would confess something or compliment the other person. As the relationship grew, the tradition faded...until our wedding day. I took the opportunity to bring back one of my favorite memories to finish my vows and toast Dan to a lifetime full of pizza, cats, corgis, sloths and Patriots + Red Sox championships (a few of our favorite things). In planning our wedding, Dan and I knew we wanted it to be a party to remember and reflective of our relationship, as opposed to focusing too much on what was trending in the wedding world. We were inspired by the time of year (NYE) and incorporated lots of metallics and clocks throughout. The must-haves at our wedding were pizza, good music and a sloth. Yes - you read that right - we had a sloth! After a couple trips to Costa Rica, we (okay, maybe more so "I") fell in love with these funny little dudes. The formalness of a NYE wedding met with the casualness of a pizza display and animals was the perfect balance and led to an incredibly memorable night. Advice to other brides: don't settle for just "any" low-cost vendor and don't make rush decisions.
