Kaley and Ryan first met the summer Kaley graduated high school at a friend’s party. They both thought the other person was cute but nothing came of it since Kaley was headed to Colorado for college and Ryan was headed to Virginia. It was four years later, in 2012, at a bar in Cody, Wyoming that Kaley and Ryan were reconnected. They kept making eye contact across the room and Kaley knew exactly who Ryan was but was too shy to make a move. Ryan was pretty sure who the girl across the bar was and had a friend go up to Kaley to get confirmation. They spent the rest of the night with their combined groups and it was the day that started their forever. The next four years were spent in a long distance relationship while Kaley finished nursing school. Once she graduated, she moved to Billings, Montana to be closer to Ryan...and then things started to pick up. In May 2016, Kaley and Ryan were on vacation in Dana Point, California with Kaley’s family. It was their last day there and Ryan invited Kaley to go for a sunset walk on the beach. It was there that Ryan got down on one knee and asked Kaley to marry him. Without hesitation, she answered with a yes. They kept the happy news to themselves for the night as they celebrated with dinner and soaked in the moment just the two of them. Kaley and Ryan exchanged their vows in front of family and friends with the mountain elegance of Montana as their backdrop. The entire day was a celebration with everyone close to Kaley and Ryan...around 400 to be exact. However, the intimate moments of the extravagant day did not get lost. It were the quiet moments of their first look that were a favorite. It gave them time to be just the two of them before the excitement and busyness of the day surrounded them. Kaley loved walking down the aisle and seeing Ryan tear up - for a guy who doesn’t show his emotions too often, it was a memorable moment for Kaley to treasure. One of their most special moments was being able to thank their guests and vendors for making their day so special with their presence. For their honeymoon, Kaley and Ryan decided to mix it up. Instead of jetting off to an island or exploring unknown parts of the world, they opted for one of their favorite things: driving together. They planned a 12 day, nine state, 4,400 mile road trip. They started by exploring in their backyard of Montana, then traveling down the Pacific Coast to Washington, Oregon, and California, and stopped in Arizona before circling back home. Each day brought adventure as they settled on where to sightsee, things to do, and where to stay. As Kaley and Ryan start their marriage, they are excited to be living in the same town...let alone the same house. With most of their relationship being long distance, they are looking forward to spending time with each other on a daily basis and creating a space that they call home together.
