Julia and Patrick were set to celebrate their marriage in August of 2020. Like many couples, they made the difficult decision to push back their wedding festivities. They finally said their "I Do's" this past summer on the most picturesque July day, and it is safe to say - it was worth the wait!
Modern and classic details served to glam up the natural elements of their beautiful venues. As a Pitt alum - Heinz Chapel was a must for the ceremony. The bride got ready in the Oaklander Hotel and then walked across campus in her fabulous Jimmy Choo's to marry the love of her life. Riverfront Wedding was just showing off for this couple as their dream team of vendors brought their glamorous and lively wedding plans to life.
These two met back in December of 2016 after Pat had recently moved to Baltimore. A mutual friend of theirs thought it necessary that Julia and Pat meet. Max's Taphouse was the location of their 'is this a date?' date that changed the course of their lives forever. After realizing they were more than "just friends" and talking for hours and hours, they found they shared a major rivalry.
Julia being from Pittsburgh is a big Steelers fan. Pat loves the Bills. Serendipitously, the opposing teams were going to play one another. Pat planned for the two to go to a Bill's Bar to view the game. They watched over shared wings as the Steelers were victorious. Julia's compassionate heart won Pat a "consolation prize kiss", and the rest as they say, is history.
There are many standout characteristics about this fascinating couple. But one component of their relationship that really stuck out to us happened when Pat was reading Julia's letter. She wrote that, "I know that neither one of us will be the same person in 5, or 10, or 50 years, but I promise to love you through it all." Cue the happy tears, that were a staple throughout their wedding day. These two get it. Sharing in the celebration of their love and the start of the marriage was a tremendous gift. If we could go to their wedding every day, we would. For now, we'll just watch their video on repeat.
Congratulations to this kind, radiant, fun, smart and beautiful pair. We couldn't be happier for you, Mr. & Mrs. Scherer!
