Jaden and Kali met at a college program in Bellevue, NE. They started showing interest in each other over the course of 3 years in that program. Everyone else in the program knew there was something between the two of them, but nothing was made official yet. Finally, Jaden's youth pastor from upstate New York came to town and, after talking to Kali, he walked over to Jaden and said "You better marry this girl." Even he saw the connection between them.
So, thus began the dating relationship. Almost immediately they knew they wanted to be together forever, so Jaden proposed. Jaden, being from Upstate New York, knew that he wanted the wedding to happen at his childhood home on his parents' property. And what a special, intimate time that was. Kali's family all made the trip up there, as well as both of their closest friends from all over the country, new and old, all together in one place. In the words of Jaden, that was "surreal."
So many beautiful moments from this day, but the sunset over the river stood out the most. So we just had to take them across the street from the reception hall to take some portraits on the docks. The cotton candy skies reflecting on the water will forever be seared into my memory. And these two had a one of a kind sparkler exit, riding off into the distance, slowly, on a grocery store wheelchair. What a vehicle!
