Both of us grew up in New York. Both, in a 4 person family. Both, the youngest child. Both decided to head to Israel on a Birthright trip in 2014. Both Ian and I had cancelled our prior birthright trips, sceptical of the experience. I am not a great traveller. My parents even had to push me out of the car at the airport while I pleaded with them to take me home. So, as corny as it sounds, the stars had aligned that day. My husband is in medical school, on the path to becoming a doctor. I, on the other hand, am a photo editor for the New York Post. We had completely different paths in life but somehow were in the right place at the right time. On the first day of the trip, he had asked me to tye his bandana. The rest is history. Getting married at the Liberty Warehouse was the most amazing experience. We said our vows overlooking the statue of liberty and the beautiful amber sunset. It was the most incredible feeling. My advice to future brides on the day of your wedding is to take 5 minutes of your wedding, go outside with your new husband, escape the craziness, and really just take it all in.
