Wedding Date on Nov 4, 2018

Where do we begin? We received our first email from Georgia Mae + Tyler on May 19, 2017. Almost TWO years ago. We can still remember reading the sweet words they shared with us in that first email about having a story that was near + dear to their hearts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A few weeks later, we got to hear it for the first time as we spoke through Face Time. We still remember how open, vulnerable, trusting, + genuine they were with us from the very beginning. They shared so many things about themselves with us — like the fact Georgia Mae loves Dave Matthews Band (which so happens to also be *my* Tyler’s favorite band 😂) — and important things like just how much they value family, friends, + the community in their lives. Georgia Mae shared how she had always prayed that her future husband would get to meet her dad, the most special man in her life...but, sadly, Georgia’s father passed away before she + Tyler had ever met. She shared that it was difficult for her to come to terms with the fact that her dad was never going to get to meet the man she was going to marry + build a life with. And that her future husband would never get to meet her dad. Except, God works in the craziest ways + little did she know that He had plans for the two of them to meet, after all. She found out that Tyler + her dad’s paths had actually crossed TWO months before her dad passed away, which was just months before they even began dating. It is so very evident that God had huge plans for their lives together — intertwining their stories + leading them to one another. A few months after we first started talking with Georgia Mae + Tyler, we received a devastating email telling us the news of Georgia Mae’s mother’s sudden passing. Above everything, we knew going into their wedding that they are people of incredible faith, strength, + determination. We have never met two more driven, kindhearted, + selfless people who go out of their way to take care of those around them. The kind of people who make EVERYONE feel appreciated + welcome + LOVED. Their love for those around them is truly a special gift. As Georgia Mae + Tyler currently live in Texas, they decided to honor GM’s East Coast roots and plan an incredible destination wedding in Charleston, South Carolina at the beautiful Magnolia Plantation. Georgia Mae + Tyler shared a first look together before their ceremony and then adventured all around the grounds with us and their photographer, Erin Wilson Photography. The weather held out for their ceremony under the mossy willow trees. Georgia Mae’s younger brother walked her down the aisle, tears fell from Tyler’s eyes as he watched her make her way down the aisle towards him, there wasn’t a dry eye the entire ceremony as they shared their written promises with one another in front of all of their nearest and dearest. There’s just something about personal vows that bring out every single emotion and truly show you the heart and story behind every couple. Following their beautiful ceremony, their guests were invited to celebrate with cocktails and then Georgia Mae + Tyler joined their guests when they were introduced into their first dance…which was perfectly choreographed from start to finish as a surprise for their guests — lots of spins, dips, princess waves. Everyone was so impressed and loved every second of it! The rest of the night was an absolute PARTY. A true celebration of all the love they have built together and with the community of people surrounding them. Halfway through the night, everyone huddled together in the tent to watch a sweet tribute video that Georgia Mae had created to honor her parents, listened to speeches from Georgia Mae’s siblings + Tyler’s best friend/man. Everyone danced their hearts out and at the end of the evening, through a sparkler exit, Georgia Mae + Tyler made their way to their vintage getaway car. I know that their two angels were right there with them as they began this new chapter together in that beautiful magnolia plantation. And gosh, what a TRUE celebration their destination wedding in Charleston truly was. A celebration of LOVE in the wake of loss. I’ve never felt so much JOY beneath one tent in the middle of a rainstorm before. I think the smiles on everyone’s faces says it all — Georgia Mae + Tyler are SO very loved — it’s so evident that God has something SO dang special in store for their marriage. He’s already at work + we cannot wait to see the way He uses their story to change so many lives around the world.
