Chill. Fun. Relaxed. Cool. Colorful. Those are the words that I think of when I think of Emily and Mike's late-August wedding at The North Farm in Geneva, NY. I love that Emily and Mike show up completely as themselves. At the end of photo/video shoot at sunset, I asked them if we could do this every weekend and I mean it. I could do a wedding like this EVERY. WEEKEND.
Emily is from Long Island and Mike is from Connecticut. They chose to have their wedding in the Finger Lakes area (at The North Farm!) because Emily and her sisters were born in the Central NY area and the place holds a special place for their family. They each got ready at their Airbnb's in Geneva before they had a Catholic wedding ceremony just down the road. Then we headed to The North Farm for all their photos, video, and wedding reception!
Here are some unique things that I LOVED about their wedding. First, the games. They had so many games available for their guests to entertain themselves with if they didn't want to dance. They had board games, corn hole, disc golf, and a giant Connect 4. Second, the desserts. Not only did they had cake and tons of cookies, but they also had gelato AND s'mores on a stick with HOMEMADE marshmallows. Stop right there. They were amazing. Third, the colors. In a world of neutral colors these days, I LOVED the variety of colors of Emily's bridesmaid's dresses and the boldness of her bouquet. And I loved the colors sprinkled on all their tables at the reception (along with the 20-sided die paper cutouts for their table numbers!). OH, and their attention to sustainability. Emily actually told me that was a big reason she decided to go with The North Farm. I could go on and on but for my last reason why I loved this wedding, beyond all the details, it was just Emily and Mike themselves. They were kind, genuine, fun, relaxed people. I really had a great time hanging out with them and made the wedding day FUN!
