How did you two meet? We grew up together! we’ve known each other since we were really young. Jack moved to Duxbury when he was 10, but I probably met him before then because I’ve been close friends with his cousin since I was 5. We didn’t start dating until a little over 3 years ago when I invited Jack to join me on a pub crawl in Boston. We’ve been together ever since! From the wedding website: Duxbury has always been home to Jack & Clio and while they have known each other for many years (20 to be exact), their story began on a cold winter night in January, 2016. As most New Englanders prepared for their upcoming hibernation, a few of their close friends decided to spice things up and head down to the local bowling alley. After hours of drinks, friendly banter and gutter balls, it became clear that a spark had struck between the two. Over the next few months they would find ways to bring their friends together. One night when Jack overheard Clio describing an upcoming trip to visit her sister at LSU, he saw his opening and kindly invited himself to tag along. From that point on the two became inseparable and as they say, the rest is history. Their mutual love of travel has led to biking over the Golden Gate Bridge, winter getaways up North & eating gelato in the Hills of Tuscany. This past Thanksgiving the two decided to brave the cold and take their dog for a walk in the town forest. Jack decided to take the scenic route which required Clio to trek up a 100 foot hill at eight months pregnant. After conquering the descent, which was equally as challenging, they arrived at their favorite spot on the trail, a peaceful lake deep in the forest. As they envisioned sharing this walk with their daughter, Jack got down on one knee and popped the question. Clio was so shocked and excited that she peed her pants which still to this day she blames on the pregnancy. Less than two months later they began their most exciting adventure yet as they welcomed their daughter, Isla, to the world on January 2nd 2019. Why did you choose to get married at the location that you did? We knew we wanted to get married by the ocean and being able to get married in our hometown was an added bonus. Jack’s parents were extremely kind to let us turn their incredible backyard into the venue of our dreams. Were there any happy surprises that happened at the wedding? After having a forecast for rain earlier in the week, the day was absolutely beautiful. We also had no idea the night would turn into one giant dance party! What moment sticks out to you above all of the others from the wedding? The moments that Jack and I had alone were incredibly special even if it was just sitting down for a moment to rest our feet. Hearing speeches from Jack’s father, the best man and maid of honor dancing with all of our family and friends! All Jack and I wanted was for everyone to come together to celebrate our union and so to see everyone having such a great time was so incredible for us. We loved every minute. … at the end of the night as we were walking out of the tent the moon was huge! and this beautiful orange color. It looked like an orange slice in the sky. It was just the perfect setting to end the perfect day. Now that the wedding is over, what are you going to do with all of your free time?! Enjoy the peace and quiet with our daughter, Isla! We are enjoying our free weekends (sans wedding planning) with our families and friends, going on family walks with our dog, Dante, and enjoying the beautiful Fall weather.
