Wedding Date on Nov 11, 2017

I met Clayton when I was a junior in high school, and he was a senior. We went to different schools, in different cities, and met at a youth conference. For me, it was love at first site. I had never before – or since – been so attracted to someone! I believe from that day forward, I thought about him every day. Because we lived in separate cities, and ultimately went to different colleges, we didn't start officially dating until 4 years later – when I was a junior in college, and he was a senior. I was actually studying abroad in Italy, and truly believed our communication would finally fizzle out being on separate continents and time zones! But our schedules actually worked in our favor – he would be driving to work when I was getting out of class. And it being the summer of the world cup, I had free international calling thanks to Skype! So we talked almost every week day that summer. We wrote love letters, sent messages, and though I didn't bring my phone abroad with me – I came home to dozens of texts and voicemails from him. After visiting each other several times, and meeting each other's friends and family, we started dating. We dated long distance for 4 years until he moved to my hometown of Louisville. After all the years dating long distance, writing letters and talking for hours on the phone, it was a joy to finally be in the same city, but also a learning experience. We took time dating in the same city and getting to know each other even better, and on Christmas Eve, 2016, Clayton asked me to be his wife – the happiest day of my life before our wedding day! The year of planning, as all brides know, was a whirlwind. I knew the wedding day would be full of emotions and fun but would be over in a blink of an eye so I knew I wanted it captured through video. Alyson was a joy to work with. We barely remember seeing her that day as she really acted like a fly on the wall. Watching the video brought back all the same emotions we felt that day, and we are truly grateful for the time and care Alyson and her team put into capturing and crafting our wedding video.
