Wedding Date on Sep 23, 2023

Kevin and Charlotte met on a fabulous fall day in November during an incredible career-altering performance by Jalen Hurts. Charlotte was visiting her sister Katherine at Baylor for the infamous OU/Baylor football game of 2019. While you can find many highlights from that day on ESPN, perhaps the biggest highlight of all was when Kevin saw Charlotte walk through the same tailgate he was attending. After the game and once his tears over the outcome of the game had dried, Kevin sparked a conversation with Charlotte. He got her number, despite the fact that Charlotte was living 8 hours away in Oklahoma City at the time. But distance didn’t stop them from pursuing each other and after many late-night calls, facetime, and discussions over the podcast Serial, the two made their relationship official in March of 2020…just in time for COVID-19 and the world shut down. Much to everyone's dismay, Kevin took this opportunity to drive 8 hours to Oklahoma City, double monitors in tow, to hang out with Charlotte (a nurse who was working full time in a hospital during a pandemic) and her roommates (one of whom was also a nurse working full time in a hospital during a pandemic). It was probably one of the dumbest decisions he could have made but also one of the biggest acts of love and an example of his commitment to Charlotte. Charlotte eventually moved back to Houston and these two were long distance no more! Thus started the next two years of their relationship which was full of more football trash talk, exploring Houston food spots, long runs, and many memorable weekends with roommates who became their best friends. October 2023 Kevin picked Charlotte up with “God Only Knows” playing in the car and walked her up to the red front door of his house where some of their favorite memories were made, and got on one knee. After asking “Are you serious??!” repetitively, Charlotte finally said yes- one of the easiest answers of her life. Kevin had planned the perfect weekend with friends and family from Texas, New York and beyond, again showing his love and commitment to Charlotte and their future together. God has had a hand in their relationship from the beginning and they can’t wait to witness the plans He has in store for their marriage.
