Logan and I are high school sweethearts. We started dating in July 2010, the summer going into his Senior year of high school and my Junior year. We both went to Carrabec High School in North Anson, ME. Our relationship started out a bit different, Logan had a scheduled open heart surgery 5 days after we started dating. There were some complications but I stood by his side for the month he was in the hospital. It was very touch and go but he was eventually discharged and has been very healthy since! We went through two high school graduations, his college graduation and me graduating from nursing school. We moved in together 6 years ago when we bought a house and have been there since! Fast forward 11 and a half years here we are. Logan proposed in 2018 at the New England Ice Castles. I was SO shocked! Our families were out of town that day but my sister and our best friends were able to sneak them on FaceTime so they could be a part of it. It was a very special day!
We visited Aruba for our first vacation together in November of 2017, right after I graduated nursing school and started working at the hospital. We loved it so much and decided that when we got married we would definitely do a destination wedding. We planned to get married in 2020, we are non traditional so we were not in any rush. We loved enjoying our engagement and just living our life together. We planned our wedding for May 30, 2020. Then covid happened.. We had to cancel our wedding and as a nurse working through the pandemic, it has been a difficult year and a half. With a lot of hope, we were able to push our wedding out one year to June 5, 2021. We decided to keep our original destination wedding spot. We chose Riu Palace in Aruba! Logan and I, along with 52 of our closest family and friends were finally able to fly to Aruba and the wedding went off seamlessly! After the year we had, we could not believe that our day finally arrived and that we were actually in Aruba, getting married, with all of our family and friends there with us. After waiting so long, it truly was a magical wedding week that we got to spend with everyone. It was perfect!
