Brad and I [Michelle] met how all traditional couples do nowadays... In early December 2014, I [Michelle] went up to Boston for the weekend to visit my college friend (and BM) Erika. She just started dating this new guy she met on Tinder, and was introducing him to her friends that Friday night. Alex, the Tinder guy, was so nice and friendly, and fit in with everyone right away! He even came back on Saturday/Sunday to hang out with us girls. I couldn't believe what a catch he was (and from Tinder)! Always reluctant to join any type of dating app, I decided after I came home that weekend, it was time to do something. Living in the heart of New York City, you'd think it'd be easy to meet a good guy, but it wasn't! I downloaded Tinder, and started to swipe right and left, and maybe left again, with the help of my roommate (and MOH) Lia. About 90 matches later, and only 3 hours in to joining the app, this guy [Brad] messaged me with an odd joke to break the ice. Thinking to myself, "Great, another weirdo", he then redeemed himself by saying that my picture was very pretty. We got along to talking all night, and then Brad asked for my phone number so we could talk off of the app. After almost 2 weeks of texting everyday, we met up for drinks on the Friday night before Christmas in Tribeca. Confirming he was not a weirdo and it was going well, I sent Lia a "thumbs up" text from the bathroom. Three hours and lots of cocktails later (oops), it was the best first date of my life! That Sunday, Brad asked me out on our second date to lunch. Then a third and fourth date, and we we're already making plans to spend New Year's Eve together. Well, I guess you could say "the rest is history"! Little did I know [after 4 months of dating] that Brad's mother, Mary, was good friends with a former Liberty Travel coworker of mine, Rachel... what are the odds? It was truly meant to be! FYI, Erika got engaged to Alex, the first Tinder Guy, two weeks before Brad proposed to me! <3 They're now married! (She was right- it worked!)
