Three years. That’s how long this video has been in the making. From booking me in 2019, to postponing their 2020 wedding to late 2021, to now finally finishing their video months later. Ashley and Steven were so patient in waiting for their dream wedding with all of their closest family and friends surrounding them, but in the meantime decided to get married in a private ceremony in fall 2020. I was so excited to hear that my friend, Brooke from Honeygem Creative, captured their private ceremony on video, and I loved that I got to incorporate elements from both weddings to tell their story. It’s a story of patience, endurance, and an abundance of love from their community. Congrats to the finally Robertsons!
From the groom: "We were initially introduced through friends and after we went on a casual dinner-date, I asked her to come with me and a couple friends to a weekend work trip to an LSU football game and tailgate. Little did she know that she was my "date" for the weekend. She must have really liked me because she played along all weekend.
After a couple more weeks of dating, I convinced Ashley to come with me on a trip to Chicago. Little did she know that she would be meeting my entire extended family as well for the Thanksgiving holiday. Again - she handled everything like a champ.
Our next big trip together was out to Napa, California and we loved everything so much that we turned it into an annual occurrence. On our third trip out to Napa, I got down on my knee and asked Ashley to be my forever partner.
What was supposed to be a year of wedding planning ended up turning into three as we had to postpone our wedding day twice due to the pandemic. We managed to handle things as best we could though and life continued. During the pandemic we bought our first home together and were officially married in a ceremony that included our parents and a few friends. We can't wait for our big day to finally get here and to celebrate with all our friends and family."
