God had a sense of humor on the day we met. We didn't meet at a friend's birthday party or at a club just mingling around. At the time, Brian was an ICU nurse and I was a volunteer and nursing student. As a volunteer, our job was to restock supplies around the unit, organize paper work, feed patients, and ask if any of the nurses needed help with anything. My school schedule at the time allowed me to volunteer on Mondays. This just so happen to be Brian's work day as well. Little did I know that each Monday I came, Brian noticed me and talked about me to his colleagues. I was oblivious to this, because he was very slick in his own ways lol. One Monday, I (finally) noticed Brian.. this masculine looking man with his perfectly tied bun, and asked him if he needed any help. Brian thought this would be the perfect time to get to know me, so he took the chance. Throughout that encounter, I would soon find out that he was a WCU alumni, the school that I was currently attending at the time to become a RN. We were both surprised at this fact that Brian instantaneously handed me his email address so he can send me his old study guides, or contact him through this email for any nursing related questions. A few minutes later, he asked me to help him prepare his patient for an operational surgery by giving the patient a CHG bath and shaving around the area where the doctor would make a surgical incision. Looking back now, I think this was a nerve-wrecking experience (hahaha), because this was the first time we both didn't know what to do. Nevertheless, we got it done and I think it's safe to say this was the first team work we've done.. together! As it was almost time for me to clock out of my volunteer work, Brian told me, "Oh.. I don't really check my email, can I just give you my number instead?" You see what I mean guys.. Brian and his own slick ways. Brian told himself that if I texted him that same day, this would be a sign. A very good sign from God. Cheesy, I know, but God is the greatest matchmaker in Heaven! So, did Arsie text him that day?!? Lo and behold, Brian was walking home after that sift and received a text message that said, "Hi Brian! This is Arsie!" and the rest is history, family and friends. Fast forward two wonderful years later... I now work at the unit Brian started at as a new grad RN. I know right? It's kinda come full circle. <3 We are so blessed and grateful that we met! So many years of prayer and trusting in God has led us together. He not only provided what we wanted in a partner, but He also knew what we needed and more. We are both beyond ecstatic to tie the knot on February 22, 2020 and share this very special day in front of our loving family and friends! Stay tuned for the #hapiLeeYparAfter!
