I LOVE Ariel and Pa'a's love story. Here's the story from Ariel: One day I was told by my mom that she had hired a new fire knife dancer/drummer and wanted me to meet him. When she first met him she had a strange feeling and told herself “that’s gonna be Ariel’s husband” (which she shared with us when he proposed). My stepdad introduced me to Pa’a(Anson) the first night he performed with us for our Keiki hula show at the courtyard Marriott (ceremony/reception location). When I met him I had an immediate feeling of “he’s different” but I ignored it. As time went by we became good friends and always had a connection. Everyone in our Halau (hula School) could also see it and always knew it was just a matter of time. As the years went by, we both couldn’t ignore the fact that we felt it as well . One night working at our luau (Luau Makaiwa) I was sitting down making leis and looked up at him and felt warmth and love and I couldn’t understand why. It was that same night that he asked me if I wanted to get a drink with him. Since then we have been inseparable . As the wedding videographer, I could see the magic between Ariel and Pa'a. They are amazing and so easy together. Another fun fact is that before I was a wedding videographer, I was a media teacher at a local high school and Ariel was my student so this wedding was extra special to me.
