Amy + Scott met through their college, Hallmark Institute of Photography. They were in each other’s orbits for quite some time before they would finally get together. Individually, they both pursued their own photography careers - each making a name for themselves in the industry. Filming a wedding for two powerhouse wedding photographers was a pretty exciting thing. After many decades of their profession, they’ve seen it all. Amy + Scott are not in the habit of denying themselves fun. Moreover, they would never deny their friends or family an epic good time. Rather, they encourage it. These two have dedicated their careers to capturing the happiest moments of other people’s lives and to watch them finally live their own moment was nothing short of remarkable. These two are as generous as they are fun so it was only fitting that they would throw an unforgettable wedding in Mexico, a place they love and wanted to share with everyone close to them.
And even on a weekend dedicated to them, they still managed to make sure that every event, every moment was for the enjoyment of everyone around them. Because that is the essence of A+S. They opened their weekend at Banyan Tree Mayakoba with a relaxing boat cruise along the riverways that meander through various resorts in the area. It was the perfect way to welcome guests to Mexico after a long day of travel. The next day, everyone was invited to a no-shoes welcome party on the beach. Complete with tables on tables of Mexican cuisine, a mariachi band, and a DJ - guests danced for hours before jumping into the pool to end the night. The wedding ceremony took place on Mayakoba’s rooftop deck, where the guests were treated to a light breeze as the sun shone above them. Amy + Scott made their entrance to their cocktail hour by boat and joined guests as they entered the reception area. The reception was a dazzling open-air venue that was filled to the brim with botanicals that are native to Mexico.
Being photographers themselves they know what it’s like to bet on themselves. Betting on yourself, your work, and your ability to continuously show up for the couples you work with is not unlike betting on the life and love you know is worth experiencing. When you know something is good, you hang tight and you run like hell into the sunset with it. That’s exactly what these two have.
