We met at a party that Amy walked into and mentally described as her own personal hell. There was karaoke and it was nine but somehow most people were 2am drunk. At the bar was a very tall man who Amy thought for sure must be married since that seemed to be the status of every single person in the bar except herself. Eric, on the other hand, saw Amy walk in and immediately felt a connection. After standing around awkwardly for a few minutes, Amy's coworker, indicated Eric and told Amy that he was single and probably someone that Amy would be interested in. After verifying that Eric was single three times, Amy pretended to trip over Eric's dog to get his attention. We spent the rest of the night talking, and Eric got Amy's number then didn't text her FOR SIX MONTHS because he's a giant scaredy cat (and also it was actually a bad time for both of us). Finally, through a series of well-timed and vaguely drunk video messages to Emry and other friends, Eric decided to text and we've been together ever since.
