When Amanda told me that she cried several times watching the video, it made me so happy! It's pretty weird that a goal in my work is to make people cry, but we know how special happy tears are, they're priceless! I was telling Amanda that in Brazil, they have a beautiful word that I love: "Saudade" describes a feeling that's both happy and sad, and the closest expression we have in English is ‘bittersweet,' a word Amanda's Dad used in a great way during his toast. This video made me connect so much with those feelings, it's Happy nostalgia that connects you with a thankful feeling about life. I'm especially thankful that my work connects me with beautiful couples like Amanda and Ryan and their family, I just feel so happy for them! I love all the time we had together before the wedding, during our engagement session, the Mother-daughter session on the beach and the rehearsal dinner, it was so sweet to get to know them more. At the same time I was working on this video, Karl was working on a big jigsaw puzzle and I felt like our work was a little bit like putting together puzzles, there are so many emotional layers, stories, connections that I have to put together and I just have to say I love how this came together!
