There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance Amanda and David’s love story illustrates love in such an authentic way. Nestled deep in the heart of a South African forest, Amanda and David’s wedding at Die Woud will make you think you’ve fallen into a fairytale. The day began with an open-air ceremony under a canopy of large oak trees decorated with simple wooden alter, benches for their guests to sit on and even more greenery. As they walked back up the aisle as husband and wife their guests showered them with leaves. The day ended in a clear glass venue that offered both the grandeur of a ballroom and the coziness of a garden reception. The bride’s vision of a “timeless fairytale sanctuary” was brought to life with handmade paper flower details. Family and friends came from all over South Africa and Ireland to attend this destination wedding. David sang his vows and a groomsman played the flute. This wedding brought together the mystical of the Irish within the beauty of a South African landscape. We worked with the incredible team from Thunder and Love photography to capture this day and all the details. Hand made paper flowers made by Amanda was something very special.
