Wedding Date on Jul 1, 2016

Bob and Amanda first met in the fall of 2005 when Bob was visiting his gradeschool friend who lived on the same dorm room floor as Amanda. Although Amanda remembered this encounter, Bob only remembered the peanut butter and jelly sandwich Amanda had made for him. Over the next few years, Bob and Amanda would see each other periodically at college parties of their mutual friend. During this time they found they enjoyed each other's company. Bob had been in a relationship then when Bob became single, years later, Amanda was in a relationship. Timing never quite seemed to work out. It was not until July of 2012 that Bob and Amanda began dating. Early into the relationship, Bob and Amanda knew this was something special. Everyday together was effortless and brought them so much happiness and shared laughs. Fast forward to the proposal. About midway through the summer of 2015, Bob came to a sudden realization: he wanted to marry to the love of his life (Amanda). Over the course of the previous three or so years, Bob had grown to love Amanda more than he ever could have thought possible, and he decided that he was ready to let her know that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Now, he just needed to come up with a great way to propose. Naturally, Bob proceeded to do what he normally does when faced with a project: he procrastinated. After wasting a few weeks that could have been put to better use, Bob decided that he would propose to Amanda on her birthday. This left Bob with just a few weeks to get a ring, talk to Amanda's dad, and come up with a fantastically thoughtful and romantic plan for popping the question. Unsurprisingly, Bob's previous bout of procrastination came back to haunt him. Although Bob had received Amanda's dad's blessing and come up with a decent plan for the actual proposal, the ring that Bob was having made would not be ready in time for Amanda's birthday. When Amanda continued to date Bob despite the terribly lame backup birthday present he was forced to give her, he was even more sure she was the one for him. In the weeks to follow, he would decide on a plan to propose that would strike the perfect chord for the couple. With the help of a Youtube playlist, a Shutterfly photobook, and a beautiful diamond ring, Bob was sure he could convince Amanda to agree to marry him. August 28th, 2015 was the day that Bob's plan finally came together. Celina (Amanda's sister and the couple's roommate) was heading out of town that evening and her dog (Lucy, the most popular resident of their apartment) was visiting her grandmother for the weekend. Bob would have his chance to propose without having to worry about an unexpected audience interrupting or Lucy eating the ring! On his way home from work, Bob stopped at the local florist to pick up some of Amanda's favorite flowers. He then nervously waited for Amanda to get home from the gym. After Amanda arrived home and Celina left for the weekend, Amanda decided to take a shower. This was for the best, since very few women want to be sweaty and gross when someone proposes. Bob took advantage of Amanda's time in the shower to hide the photobook and the ring in the living room. He then sat, nervously, waiting for Amanda to get out of the shower. After what must have been an hour of waiting, Bob heard the water stop. He then started the Youtube playlist he had created for Amanda that included songs that reminded him of her, tried to slow his heart rate, and sat, nervously, waiting for Amanda to come out of the bathroom. After what was at least another hour and a half, Amanda finally emerged from the bathroom smelling of soap and looking relaxed in her PJs. Bob presented the photobook to Amanda as an apology for not giving her a present on her birthday that could actually unwrap. Although a little strange, Amanda was not yet suspicious, since Bob had given her such a poor birthday present. As the two looked through the book that included pictures from the major events they shared over the previous couple of years, one was enjoying the trip down memory lane and the other was attempting to organize his thoughts so that he would not mess up the major event they were about to experience. When Amanda came to the final page of the book, she was informed that there was a very important question that Bob wanted to ask her. After getting down on one knee, Bob told Amanda how much he loved her, that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, and he asked her if she would marry him while presenting her with what is, in his humble opinion, the most beautiful ring in the world. To her credit, Amanda said yes with hardly a glance at the ring. However, she has since spent plenty of time staring at the ring. With that, the couple began a new chapter in their own, personal storybook, one step closer to happily ever after.
