Believe it or not, Shane and Alex first met about 17 years ago. They lived within 20 minutes of each other, attended the same middle school and high school. They even shared a lot of the same friend groups and hung out altogether many times. They were alphabetically seated next to each other on their over night high school graduation event where they first found out that they were both attending LSU. To their surprises, they found out they were enrolled in the same major when they walked into the same first class together. It was not until after graduating college and moving back to Austin - where they both worked as graphic designers at a local sign shop - that's when they first started to get to know each other... and the rest is history.
This wedding day was all about connection. Families and friends were able to feel as comfortable as possible and get to know each other through celebrating love! The color scheme was very neutral, think champagne to rust. The decor was very toned down. Small/short table settings so that everyone could see each other and converse easily. They chose to serve dinner as family style for even more conversational ease. Everything led back to family for Shane and Alex. Alex even wore her mom's wedding dress, which she passed down to her godmother and now to Alex.
Speaking of parents, the night was over and I ran into Shane's mom on my way out and asked her if she would like to record a message to her son and daughter-in-law. She said yes, and her words brought the whole story of Shane and Alex's relationship together.
Family. Symbolism. Love. Everywhere.
