Adam and Liv met at a tiny college called Patrick Henry College in Northern Virginia in 2015. Liv was a girl from the flat plains of central Illinois and Adam was a very proud cold-loving Minnesotan and neither of us had dated before coming to college. Even in a small school (under 300) it took weeks for Liv to notice him, because he was in his room studying 24/7. One time they played pick-up ultimate frisbee and Liv mistook him for a local friend of a student. She literally didn't think he was a part of my class. Little did she know that Adam definitely knew who she was by then. He started small conversations in the dinning hall about their classes and would frequently talk to her in a class they shared together. Liv remembers her roommate telling her after one of those very classes, "Liv, that guy totally likes you." She shrugged it off, sure that her friend zoning tactics would keep him away ;) He quickly found ways to shoot hoops with her at night or study together. It wasn't love at first site for her but she began to admire his love for the Lord and others. He pursued her with a lot of intention and they quickly became best friends. It wasn't long before they both realized they were going to be best friends for life. They bonded over our faith, love of laughter, music, sports and gathering with friends. He was the first blonde boy she ever liked and she was the only girl who could convince him to try (and eventually love) coffee. They spent three years adventuring around Northern Virginia and spending summers interning in the DC area. On any given day, you can find them enjoying coffee shop dates, watching sunsets in the Virginian mountains, watching Fixer Upper, going to Jack Johnson and Ben Rector concerts, and watching Sunday football. He lovingly tolerates her love of plants and classical music and she has overlooked his love for the Vikings and baseball caps. On the prettiest 65 degree day in February, Adam proposed at the Lincoln Memorial at dusk overlooking the Washington Monument and reflection pool and surprised Liv with a huge engagement party at their favorite restaurant. (Over 30 people!) On September 14th, 2019, in front of God, family and friends, they tied the knot in a gorgeous park pavilion. It was the dreamiest and joyful day, more than everything they ever dreamed of.
