Ziad and I met in Paris, in 2010, while we were both studying abroad. He is Lebanese and I am Canadian. We lived in Paris together for 3 years and then moved to Dubai, where we got engaged on a trip to Thailand. Shortly after we made the move to Los Angeles where we began planning the wedding. Unfortunately, after booking a venue and sending a save the date Ziad was offered an opportunity he could not refuse and moved back to Dubai while I stayed in LA. We decided to postpone the wedding until we knew where and when we would be together. This May we were visiting his parents in Lebanon, we had been engaged for three years now, and discussing the wedding. We decided in that very moment that we were going to plan a small wedding in Maui as his family was travelling there for a vacation. With two months to plan an entire wedding we got to work! We began by calling all the wedding venues in Maui, pulling rates and looking at their packages. We had less than 30 guests which made it a bit tricky to find a wedding package that fit our exact needs. I ended finding @SugarBeachEvents, who have a beautiful and intimate beach front venue perfect for a wedding of our size. They accommodated our every need and we were thrilled with how the wedding turned out. I was also able to find some really great vendors through Instagram. I worked with @thefernsphotgraphy who recommended the amazing video team at @arecafilmco and my florist @thefloralette who in turn recommended my hair and make up artist @breerubinhair. All of my vendors were really great and it was important to me that I work with people who are trusted already by others in the industry. My dress was from @GraceLovesLace RTW collection, which I did not know was even an option until I went into their Venice Beach showroom. This was an amazing option for a bride planning a quick wedding, I was able to order my dress online and have it delivered in 10 days. There was no need for alterations or anything! There are so many great options for brides these days and I am thrilled I was able to find my dress on such short notice. If I could pass on any advice to brides planning their wedding now, it would be to focus on your happiness and make sure the wedding and all it involves makes you happy! Because its your day and you don't want to have anything distracting from that.
