On a chilly night in November of 2013, Will and I were both at a local Baltimore watering hole with mutual friends. The minute I saw him, I knew I had to meet him—and that’s just what I did. I walked right up to him and said “Who are you? I’m totally digging your energy?!” If you know me, you know I don’t normally talk like that. Who knows what came over me, I’m just glad something did. For the last five years our love story has been filled with Ravens football games, beach days, backyard bonfires and ice cold beers. When planning our wedding we knew exactly what we wanted. We wanted a venue where guests could stay on site and just relax for the weekend. We found a venue in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where the guests could stay and that we could have our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at. We made an entire weekend out of it and boy did we celebrate. From custom koozies at the bar to s’mores favors for guests to enjoy at our bonfire after party, we made sure everything had a personal touch. I’m pretty sure we didn’t leave the dance floor once. We had light up flower crowns, tambourines and foam sticks...oh yeah and a confetti cannon during Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” Does it get better than that?If we were to give advice to future brides and grooms it would be to stay present! We were completely present and focused on each other during the ceremony and with our guests throughout all aspects of the night. We wanted to soak in everything. Oh yeah, and definitely steal a moment to yourselves, even if it’s just during sunset pictures! Remember this is only one day out of your lives but it’s going to hopefully set the tone for a new chapter in your love story!
