Her Story: Andrew and I met in French class in 7th grade. I was 12 and Andrew was 13. It all started when of my friends came up to me and said "What would you say if Andrew asked you out?" As any awkward pre-teen would, I responded "I don't know, I'd probably say yes" (I mean he was one of the tallest boys in our grade..) AND just like that (in true middle school fashion) Andrew and I were "dating". We spent most of our time talking on AIM and making eye contact with each other across the classroom.. Fun Fact: Andrews screen name Ddrew571 My Screen name: Shanaynay1126 Over time we realized that we enjoyed being together far more than we enjoyed being apart and that we were truly a great match. We don't always like the same things or have the same hobbies but that's what makes our relationship fun, there's always something to talk about. I wouldn't be able to take on all of life's adventures and challenges without him. We have stayed together through good times and bad and practically have a common law marriage at this point so why not make it official? Who knew my future husband was sitting behind me in French class? That being said, maybe if our french teacher realized that back in the day she would have stopped yelling at us for not paying attention... Also, side note, since we were never paying attention our mean French teacher moved our seats to opposite sides of the classroom...hence - why we needed to make so much eye contact. His Story: In 6th grade I made the unfortunate mistake of electing to take French as my foreign language class. After about two weeks in the class I knew I had made a bad decision but I wasn't going to bitch out and switch to Spanish. So, I continued on hating every minute of that class for six months dreading the times when I would get called on to answer a question... One day when I looked up from hiding and looked up at the other side of the classroom there was "Veronique" (AKA Vanessa). We started by passing notes and talking through a mutual friend, Mariah. Eventually, we began sitting together at lunch, talking in the hallways between class and talking on AIM Fun Fact: I used to set a notification on AIM to alert me with a whistling sound every time Vanessa signed on so that I didn't miss talking to her. I'm honestly not sure how we made the transition from talking to dating but I'm sure glad we did. 7th grade Andrew didn't know it at the time but he had just met his best friend and person he would spend the rest of his life with. To this day, the only things I remember from French class are "Veronique" and the phrase "Je ne sais pas" which means "I don't know".
