From Taylor, the bride: Ryan and I met after I moved to Pensacola, FL while working at the Naval Air Station. We worked at the same clinic, but different departments. He was an eye catcher, for sure. I was working out of an office that he passed frequently and we would casually chat. I finally mustered up the courage to ask him to “brunch” via Facebook (I know, super original). We went to a small diner, on the edge of the Florida/Alabama border and quickly “clicked”. I was addicted to his large smile and optimistic outlook. We quickly moved in together and have formed an incredible bond. We’ve already started a family and have two kitty fur-children, Paavo and Lola. We will be moving into our first house, leaving apartment life behind us, in mid-May when I join him in North Carolina where he has been stationed for the past nine months.

Ry proposed to me on Christmas Eve 2015. I came home, after prepping a few dishes at a friends house that we planned to go to for X-mas dinner, to find a note on the door and loud music playing. When I opened the door, there were candles everywhere!! Floating in water, lighting a pathway through the kitchen. There were pictures of us placed throughout the counters with special notes on them. The path also led to the bedroom, when I opened the door, there he was standing in a circle of candles and he asked me to dance. “Crash” by Dave Matthews was playing, one of my favorites. We danced for a while, while he spoke softly, telling me everything he loved about me and “us”. Then he got down on one knee and presented the ring. We danced a little more after that. I noticed it was getting a little smokey in the house, only to find one of the candles burned a hole into the wood floor! We laughed while we picked up, what seemed like a million, small tea light candles from the wood floor. It was pretty awesome and hilarious now that we look back on it.
