Wedding Date on Oct 19, 2019

Our love story: While strolling through West Village one summer day in August 2017 with her husband, Michael, one of my best friends, Anna, ran into Tony. Michael and Tony's younger brother Matt are close friends from childhood, so when they were all chatting Anna asked him if he was single. Our first (and blind date) was scheduled for one rainy Friday night. I was tempted to cancel, but Tony pushed to keep it. We met at Crimson & Rye in New York City at 6PM. He looked adorable in his "Canadian tuxedo" and glasses (swoon-- I'm a sucker for glasses!). It was the first of many stops that evening as we eventually found ourselves the last people dancing in the bar at 2AM with DJ Jeff. It was in the 5th hour of our first date that I knew he was the one. Perhaps it was the tequila shots, but I had to squeeze my cheeks because they hurt so much from laughing. DJ Jeff waved us over and asked us how long we had been together. We told him it was our first date and he simply couldn't believe it. He exclaimed, "you two look like you've been together for YEARS!". It felt like it too. I knew I met my person that fateful rainy night. <3 We said "I love you" on NYE, moved into together in April, and he proposed on 11.19.18. Tony is obsessed with Christmas. It's his favorite holiday. I'm Jewish and it was my first official tree, so he pulled out all the bells and whitsles to make it a big deal. I had come home from work that evening and he was cooking me dinner wearing his Santa hat and had Christmas music on in the background. We lit the tree and put up the ornaments when he revealed that he had been collecting ornaments unbeknownst to me from all the places we traveled together while dating. We shared our favorite memories from each place. When we got to the last ornament he told me to guess... that it was from a really memorable time that was super romantic... I opened the ornament and it was engraved with: Taryn & Tony Our last Christmas as single people. When I looked up, he was on one knee and popped the question! I had no idea.
