Wedding Date on Sep 28, 2019

1) How did the couple meet? We met through online dating 2) How did they get engaged? Michael and I were planning to travel to France for a while. We started in Paris, then went to Mont-Saint Michel, and ended in Nice. We only spent one night in Mont-Saint Michel. The day before the proposal we took a 5 hour journey via taxi, train, bus, and shuttle, from Paris to Le-Mont-Saint Michel. We toured the small town the day we arrived and Michael flew his drone to capture some scenic shots while secretly trying to find the perfect place to propose. That night we stayed at a small hotel on the island which was a dream come true. Michael told me that he wanted to wake up at 5:00am to take more pictures before the busloads of tourists arrived. He carefully planned his outfit, wrote out what he was going to say on his phone, and had all his cameras charged along with his drone to film the special moment. At 5:00am we woke up to the alarm and looked out the window. The tide was coming in faster than expected to the spot Michael was going to propose. We quickly changed and rushed down to the sand. By the time we got to where he was planting the proposal, the water was about 100 meters away from us and closing in fast. As we were trying not to slip, Michael looked down at his feet and noticed he wasn't wearing the shoes he wanted to propose in. His plans started falling apart. He didn’t have time to setup his drone and the GoPro was filming in the wrong setting. The only reliable camera at this point was his iPhone which he needed on hand for his speech. He reluctantly propped his iPhone on top of his backpack on timer setting and told me to pose for a picture. He ran quickly over to me, got on one knee, pulled out the ring, and forgot everything he had written down on his phone. All that he could make out was, “Will you marry me?”. I was in shock and didn’t say anything so he asked me if I wanted to try on the ring. It was the happiest day of our lives and we were finally engaged! 3) Was there anything really unique or surprising about their wedding? Michael and I really wanted to merge our cultural traditions in our celebration. We incorporated a Chinese lion dance performance and Korean traditional ceremonies as part of our big day.
