Blake’s mom and dad ,Heidi and Troy, had opened a food truck specializing in creative comfort food, and Blake was always ready and willing to help them in any way he could to help the food truck (his mother’s dream) succeed and worked every event they went to. As the demand for Heidi’s food cart increased, she needed more workers and that’s when she interviewed Sontia. Heidi instantly knew she would hire Sontia and after the interview, she called her husband, Troy, and said, jokingly, “I just met Blake’s wife!” Heidi has had many hopes and dreams that she has told Troy throughout their long marriage, but this one came true. Blake and Sontia spent many weekdays shopping, and preparing food for the events and worked side by side on the food cart almost every weekend during that summer and into autumn. After months of working together, what started as a work friendship, quickly turned into something they were too shy to name. Everyone could see the connection between them as they started having stronger feelings for each other, until one day, a close friend said “so you two are dating now?” to which Blake and Sontia looked nervously at each other, blushing and then laughing a little they both said “yeah, I guess so!”. That was three years ago, and since then Blake and Sontia and their families have been inseparable! They love having wholesome family game nights or baking parties, going on hikes around the gorge, cooking, reading, doing Yoga, meditation, and going to Portland to eat at their favorite restaurants like Bamboo Sushi and to have ice cream at Salt and Straw. They dated for nearly 3 years before Blake did a surprise proposal on Mt. St. Helens at a spot he found while working as an EMT on the mountain. 6 months later, they promised their lives to each other in Bend, Oregon at Brasada Ranch on one of the most beautifully sunny, winter days we’ve seen. This is Winter Sun, the love story of Blake and Sontia Marble. We open the Film with a visual story telling followed by their raw and honest love letters, and finish with two emotional speeches given by Blakes loving parents.
