Wedding Date on Aug 12, 2018

Deep in the mountains of Santa Cruz, at a modest buddhist retreat called Pema Osel Ling, some of the kindest people I've ever met got married. Redwoods, stringlights, and hindu garb made for an incredibly unique wedding. Before the wedding, they told me that they were going to do a bonfire with beers and music, and even though the hours they hired me for ended before that, I couldn't help but stick around, grab a cold one, and keep filming in near pitch black conditions (except the fire obviously). I felt truly at peace there, not in a buddhist way, but in a way that it reminded me of hanging out with my musician friends at Ocean beach playing acoustic guitar, eating taco bell and drinking IPA. I didn't realize it at first, perhaps I assumed it was just one of their friends who was good at playing guitar, but I soon realized this was a legitimate artist playing Weezer and Bob Dylan covers for us. It was one of those weddings that act as a breath of fresh air when you're bogged down shooting weddings that start to feel the same.
