Wedding Date on Aug 11, 2018

From Shayda: Amir and I met in March 2013 during an Iranian Student Association meeting at OU. I was a grad student finishing up my first year of my Master's and Amir was finishing his 3rd year of his 2nd Bachelor's. We both joined the club after hearing about a need for performers for the Eve of Nations, a cultural event that showcases traditional dances and fashions from the various international clubs at OU. The members of the performance practiced several evenings over the next month and Amir and I became fast friends. After the performance, we realized we studied in the same college, just differing majors. So for that year following, we hung out as friends (lots of trips to Eskimo Sno, our favorite snow cone stand), learning we had a lot in common. Finally in March 2014, we went on our first date to Benvenuti's in Norman. We both graduated that summer and started our careers. Amir worked in North Dakota, so our first year as officially dating began as a long distance relationship. However, Amir got a job back in Oklahoma in April 2015 and we moved in together. Our relationship grew stronger and we fell in love. I fell in love with Amir because of his kindness and selflessness. He always puts others before himself. Amir is intelligent, creative, hard working, caring, and always makes people laugh. He’s super helpful around the house, a top notch handy man, a talented dancer, and makes the best kabob! He loves unconditionally with a love that has no end. Amir would say he fell in love with me because “she is sweet, cheerful, and will always be on your side if you need her. She is very dedicated and goal oriented in life, energetic and highly creative minded. She is determined and passionate to achieve her goals. She has the most beautiful smile and I believe my dream came true when I got to know her amazing personality as our relationship grew stronger.” Then in April 2017, Amir proposed in Punta Cana while we were ziplining. It was so romantic! We had a long engagement and were married at Coles Garden in OKC on August 11, 2018. It was the most perfect and happiest day of our lives!
