From The Filmmaker: Colin and Shannon are two smart, sophisticated southern gems who couldn’t be a better match for one another. The wedding ceremony was held at Central Christian Church in downtown Lexington. The minister was a dear friend of the bride and had the opportunity to see Colin and Shannon grow in their relationship. She highlighted their time together and how their love conquered anything that came their way. Both Colin and Shannon were full of emotion during their vows, and it was so special to see how much that moment meant to both of them. At one point during the ceremony, Colin’s grandmother recited the same quote from Shakespeare that Colin referenced in his letter to Shannon. What an incredible treasure that will be to look back many years from now and watch + listen to her sharing that part of the sonnet (spoiler alert: we felt like this was such a special part of the wedding ceremony that we included the reading at the end of the highlight video)! The newlyweds concluded the ceremony by sealing their vows with a kiss, and just like that we were packing up our wedding video gear and heading to the reception to celebrate with the couples’ loved ones. The reception was held at the Apiary in downtown Lexington. An outdoor cocktail hour had guests mingling with one another while snacking on delicious hors d’oeuvres and sipping cocktails. Every detail of the day was executed perfectly thanks to the hard work of Camille Tucker and her team. The vibrant greenery provided by Elizabeth Earnest Florals served as the perfect compliments to the already-breathtaking wedding venue, and it didn’t hurt that the stormy skies broke just in time for guests to enjoy a perfect summer evening in one of Lexington’s most amazing outdoor spaces. The reception was capped off with a performance by the Encore Band that packed the dance floor with guests late into the evening.
