We met in March of 2012 on a Spring Break cruise to the Bahamas. Though we went to rival schools, we had mutual friends and were introduced on that trip. We were friends for a long time before we started dating and eventually falling in love. We officially started dating in the Fall of 2013, and never looked back. We initially bonded over our mutual love for sushi, and consistently found ourselves coming back to each other to talk about great meals we had. As they say, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and I think that is definitely true! We got engaged under the Brooklyn Bridge in March of 2017 in the pouring rain, which was the biggest and best surprise. In the Fall of 2017, after three years living in NYC, we moved back to Florida to start the next chapter in our lives and plan our wedding. There were a few things that were most important to us in the wedding planning process:1) We wanted to incorporate the local beauty and specialties of our wedding location, which include citrus and the outdoors2) Great, great food3) An amazing band4) Personal touches that really made the wedding feel like usI am proud to say that I think we accomplished those things and so much more. Our wedding day was really the best and most fun day ever. My advice to brides and grooms is to be kind to your friends and family during this time, to trust your vendors, and to delegate. It is likely that things will go wrong on your wedding day. 1 minute after our first look, Scott bent down to help me fluff my veil, and his pants ripped right down the middle. Luckily, my MOH’s mother can sew and she saved the day. BUT! This made for a great memory, and our day was still perfect. Just let it go and be present. It goes by so fast.
