You know how your parents used to say, "nothing good will come from sitting on the couch all day!" Well, for the most part they are right, but in the case of Savannah and I meeting - they were wrong. It was a typical Saturday in May 2015. The guys were getting ready to go out to dinner and have a night out in Palo Alto, as the girls in the crew were in Las Vegas for Camille's Bachelorette party. One of our good friends Justin mentioned that a few new girls were going to join us. As usual, I delayed getting ready as he was sitting on the couch watching baseball and playing video games. And that's when everything changed...Savannah walked into the garage with her friends and as soon as I saw her I hopped off the couch as if my pants were on fire, running to my room to go clean up and get ready. Savannah was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen...I tried to play it cool and not pay her much attention - through dinner and the first part of the evening. However, at one point Savannah hopped up on the bull at Old Pro (local bar) to make her last attempt to get my attention - and needless to say, that did the trick. From there, we shared a couple of drinks and made plans to go on a date later that week. What happened on our first date was nothing short of amazing. We spent almost 3 hours sitting together at Kincaid's in Burlingame, talking about their entire lives and the rest was history from there. We started officially dating on June 10th and before they knew it we were living together with our good friends Shane & Camille. (You all know how Bay Area rents can be ;)Fast forward a year and a half and we had a tough decision to make. I wanted to make move back to Arizona and start the next stage of my life as homeowner. I asked Savannah, "Would you be willing to move to Arizona if we buy a house?" And without hesitation Savannah swiftly responded, "Let's go, I will follow you anywhere." And it was at that moment, I knew Savannah was the one. Savannah had never even been to Arizona for more than a day in her life and she was willing to leave her job and everything she knew behind to be with me. At that moment, she was committed to him and I was committed to her. When we got to Arizona we were introduced to a great group of friends by our good friend Chris Combs. After the typical bumps and bruises of moving to a new place, Savannah and I settled into our new home and it was time for me to make that leap (well, kneel) of faith. So, I gathered all of our closest friends and family that were in Arizona for the big surprise. Savannah's parents, Michael and Mary, came out from Oregon and my parents, Dan and Holly, came up from Tucson for the big surprise. While Savannah thought it was just a surprise for Easter Weekend, she got a whole lot more. As she turned back from being in awe of seeing her parents, I pointed to the 30+ family and friends watching in the distance. From there, I got on my knee and asked her to be his wife. After all of the planning, it was only fitting that we got married near Savannh's hometown of Medford, Oregon, where her family owns a large coffee distribution business - Good Bean Coffee. The most important thing for us was to have as many friends and family there as possible, so we went for it - 250 people! We had our rehearsal dinner at the original Good Bean store where she grew up and the most gorgeous ceremony we could've ever imagined at Belle Fiore Winery in Ashland, OR. I could type for days about how beautiful and amazing the ceremony was, but the video says it all. I hope everyone can enjoy the genuine love and joy that is expressed throughout this entire video. It truly captured just how special the day was!June 8th, 2019 is a day we will remember for the rest of our lives!
