From The Bride: We met in late 2012 as we were finishing up our Bachelor's Degrees in English at CSUEB, and immediately bonded over our mutual love for sports. We spent the next five months flirting in class, studying together, and hanging out as "just friends."Our first date was Valentine's Day 2013, we made things official four days later, and the rest is history. The entire proposal was a COMPLETE surprise. We had been planning on going to the Dickens Fair in San Francisco for a couple of weeks, when Adam decided to buy a ring and pop the question. (Sarah loves dressing up, and goes to the Dickens fair every year.) As we walked around the concourse, Adam casually suggested we stop at an old-timey photo booth. Once we were posed and having our picture taken, Adam got down on one knee, quoted Pride & Prejudice (another favorite of Sarah's!), and said, "Will you be my wife?" We were both ecstatic, and called our parents immediately. Later that night, we went out to dinner in Walnut Creek, and our closest friends and family were all waiting to celebrate with us! Adam and our close friend (and officiant) Bryan, had organized a surprise engagement dinner. Best. Day. Ever. We planned our wedding with our family by our side every step of the way! We wanted to make it a literary-inspired, Gatsby-esque bash, while still keeping our family and dear friends at the forefront of the day (AKA we wanted to throw a killer party).
