Wedding Date on Apr 29, 2017

From The Bride: Matthew and I have an insanely romantic story...we both swiped right ;-) Yes, we met on Tinder while living in Chicago in 2014 and yes, I denied it for a good year or so. We met through 'mutual friends' was my go-to that first year. First date was so/so...he now admits that he was a bit intimidated because I have a big personality. I agreed to a second date merely because of his handsome good looks. Second date was awesome at his favorite Italian restaurant where he continued to get me a little too drunk, and I initiated the first kiss. After the second date we had a few more and it became 'official' on St. Patrick's day. We were inseparable, in love, and a little over a year in we moved in together. A year after that, Matthew got an amazing promotion within his company and I, being the amazing and supportive girlfriend that I always was, supported his decision to take on the new role in...DALLAS, TEXAS. On July 24, 2016 (his birthday), Matthew threw me off completely by proposing on our balcony in the new home that we created for ourselves in Texas. The wedding: I am from Bloomfield Hills, MI, and knew that Downtown Detroit was where I wanted to get married. I wanted to show the out-of-towners (half of our 250 wedding guests) an amazing time and experience in the "D". I am very Type A and knew exactly what I wanted. I also knew that I wanted to be unique and add some history into the mix. The answer: The Fillmore Detroit. A historic Detroit theater where I grew up going to see many plays and concerts. The date worked and the fun began. Nine months and five days after the engagement, we got married and it was one hell of a weekend. Wedding gift bags were all Detroit themed (you name it, it was in there) and rehearsal dinner looked over Detroit at the Beacon building on One Woodward Ave. Next stop, Thailand and Bali for two and a half weeks...HEAVEN.
