From Sam: "Andrew and I met at my best friend’s birthday party. A great way to know a great person is by all of your best friends already knowing and loving them. That night, we were convinced by those friends (and some wine) to try some acro-yoga poses together! We reveled in our success, fought about our favorite TV shows, and went our separate ways. I thought he was pretty stellar. A few weeks and a couple friend hangs later, he asked me if he was reading me correctly: did I like him, too?" From Andrew: "We went to the beach on our first date. The sky was clear and the humidity was high. We spent the entire afternoon talking and laying together until it was dark. Sam casually mentioned her black belt in Taekwondo and gave me a demonstration which quickly ended with my face in the sand. It was then that I knew I had found someone special. We both knew it was love before we could say it out loud, but soon enough, we did that, too. Two years later when I proposed, Sam thought I was pranking her and started to walk away. When it turned out to be real, she cried. So much. (Happy tears, I think.)" These two traveled from Florida all the way to the wilderness of Washington to get married. They originally had a full wedding planned, but obviously COVID had other plans. Sam's aunt officiated their ceremony, and the only witnesses were the videographer and the photographer (or so we thought). Turns out, Andrew's dad flew in and surprised them right after they said their "I Dos". He had been hiding in a nearby bush to watch the ceremony! He got to Hurricane Ridge hours before, and spent that time looking around for them, hoping he wouldn't miss them. It all worked out and he was able to surprise them and say "congrats" in person. It was the sweetest surprise - the cherry on top of a perfect and sweet elopement. Their sweet vows had us all in tears (and probably Andrew's dad in the bushes, too).
