7.22.17 - Wedding of Ruslana & Andrey at Mitchells Mountain Meadows in Truckee, CA. Where do I begin. We absolutely loved the location, the atmosphere with all the close friends and family, the lovely couple, pretty much everything about this gorgeous destination wedding. It couldn't be more perfect. There's something about destination weddings like this that gives me so much joy and happiness. It probably has to do with being close with nature, away from technology (no cell phone signal in this place). The Tahoe National Forest is absolutely beautiful from the sky. When I started to edit this highlight film, I was kind of stuck because I had so much footage and it was all really good. My usual process or workflow is to find the audio content first to build the story. After listening through the ceremony audio and reception speeches, I found a connection. I knew what I needed but I had to look through Ruslana and Andrey's instagram to find it. And that's when the great idea came to mind. Because the couples' instagram photos were so beautiful, I wanted to somehow include them in the film and I love how it worked out so perfectly. I just started messing around with effects to create the vision I had in my head and it was exactly how I wanted it to be, maybe even better.
