Wedding Date on May 28, 2022

From the bride: We like to say that we are good at group projects. Paul popped the question on Jan 30, 2021 and we decided to look for a house together. The NEXT DAY we were out looking at houses. We spent the next three months learning everything we could about buying a house in the most competitive market the area had seen in 25 years, at least. It was exhausting. It was so hard. But we shared the burden together, we were kind to each other, and when our sixth offer was finally accepted, it felt like the culmination of everything we'd worked so hard, put in so many hours and eaten so many meals in the car to achieve. We went about wedding planning the same way. Both of us are introverts and procrastination pros. We were honest with ourselves and each other about what was important to us, and each of us committed to planning the party of a lifetime together. One day last September, Susan asked Paul if he felt like taking dancing lessons for our first dance. He said he thought that might be fun, which started our several-month journey to overcome our shyness and learn a dance we love! It has been difficult but so much more fun than we could have imagined, and dancing together feels like the best kind of pre-marriage counseling. Both of us gave ourselves wholeheartedly to our chosen activity and watching it pay off has been so incredibly rewarding. We hope our wedding will help bring our family together as well. We have worked hard to make our guests feel how important they are to us. We want it to be a good memory for everyone involved, something people can look back on as the start of a friendship or the continuation of an old one-- perhaps even an occasion that helped old wounds to heal. Hey, we can dream, right? It has been a wild, silly journey and we are coming out of it as in love with each other as ever before (and really in dire need of a vacation, tbh). We are just so grateful to have found in each other the perfect partner for any group project we could hope to undertake over the course of our lives together. Plus, Paul likes to bake and Susan is a bread monster, so it really is a perfect match!
