From Olivia, the bride: Steve and I first officially met at our work Golf Outing. One of our mutual work friends offered us both a ride home from the event. We immediately clicked in the car, but nothing came of it afterwards. We were then on our work volleyball league together for a few months, but still nothing ever happened- despite my shameless flirting with him. Then one night, we ran into each other out at the bar, and I finally confessed my long-time crush on him, to which he was apparently completely surprised. He apologized for his lack of awareness the past few months, and told me was available to hang out Sunday through Saturday. The rest is history :). We make an effort to go to the Lincoln Park (Chicago) Zoo Lights every year. This year, he said we were going to meet up some friends who were already at the zoo. They were apparently pretty far back, near the "reptiles." As we approached the back of the zoo to meet them, I saw a small high-top table with champagne, flowers and chocolate-covered strawberries--and to the left, a zoo lights sign asking me to marry him. It was a beautiful moment and shortly after, our friends came out from hiding and shared in the moment with us.
